Custom Titanium Diaphragms for Audio OEMs
Hele Titanium manufactures precision-formed titanium diaphragms and tweeter domes for audio OEMs, with additional support for industrial sensor and custom drawing-based diaphragm components
Titanium Diaphragm Buying Essentials
Start with the product level and application, then define titanium grade, thickness, formed geometry, interface, tooling and inspection requirements before prototype or production review.
Component Geometry Does Not Define Complete Driver Performance
Frequency response, resonance, distortion, sensitivity and power handling depend on the complete diaphragm assembly, voice coil, magnetic system, phase plug, horn and test conditions—not the titanium dome alone.
Product Level & Application
Confirm exactly what component is required before defining dimensions or performance requirements.

Choose formed titanium diaphragm components by application, geometry and product level, with audio and industrial designs reviewed under separate specification and validation requirements.
Specify the Product Level Before Quotation: A titanium foil blank, formed dome, bare diaphragm, diaphragm assembly and complete driver or sensor are different supply levels. HELE reviews the exact component scope against the customer drawing, approved sample and required validation plan.

Titanium Grades for Diaphragm Components
Select titanium grade and condition together with thickness, formed profile, tooling and end-use requirements. Material choice should be reviewed separately from finished-component and assembly performance.
Grade 1 Titanium
Commercially Pure Titanium
REVIEW: THICKNESS • CONDITION • FORMING DEPTH • PROFILE • SURFACE
- Can be reviewed for thin formed diaphragm components
- Where required thickness, profile and condition support forming
Grade 2 Titanium
Commercially Pure Titanium
REVIEW: THICKNESS • GEOMETRY • FORMING • EDGE • INSPECTION
- Can be reviewed for formed or flat diaphragm components
- Where geometry, strength and thickness are compatible
Grade 5 Titanium
Ti-6Al-4V
REVIEW: STRENGTH REQUIREMENT • THICKNESS • FORMING FEASIBILITY • MACHINING • INSPECTION
- Reviewed for selected components where alloy strength justifies use
- Subject to thickness, condition and forming route
Customer-Specified Materials
Project-Defined Titanium Grades & Conditions
REVIEW: GRADE • SPECIFICATION • CONDITION • THICKNESS • QUALIFICATION
- Other titanium grades or material specifications can be reviewed
- Where drawing, application and geometry are clearly defined
Raw-Material Specification Is Not Finished-Diaphragm Performance: ASTM B265 may apply to titanium sheet or strip used as starting material, but finished diaphragm geometry, dimensional acceptance and functional performance are controlled by the drawing, approved sample, inspection plan and assembly-level validation where applicable.
Material Grade Does Not Define System Performance: Titanium grade alone does not determine frequency response, resonance, sensor accuracy, pressure response or cycle life. These depend on geometry, thickness, joining, assembly design and test conditions.
Review Material & Thickness.
How to Choose the Right Titanium Diaphragms
Titanium diaphragm selection depends on application type, titanium grade, thickness, forming profile, stiffness, surface condition, dimensional tolerance and documentation requirements. For audio OEMs and sensor manufacturers, small changes in thickness, dome geometry or surface condition can affect acoustic response, sensitivity, consistency and assembly performance.
Confirm Application Type
Choose titanium diaphragms according to the final use, such as tweeter domes, speaker diaphragms, headphone diaphragms, industrial sensor diaphragms or custom OEM diaphragm components.
Define Thickness, Diameter and Forming Profile
Confirm diaphragm diameter, material thickness, dome height, forming depth, corrugation profile, edge shape and drawing tolerance according to acoustic response, sensor sensitivity or assembly requirements.
Match Titanium Grade to Performance Needs
Review Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 5 or other titanium grades according to formability, stiffness, lightweight performance, acoustic behavior, corrosion environment and application requirements.
Confirm Surface, Inspection and Documentation
Confirm surface finish, cleanliness, edge condition, dimensional inspection, thickness inspection, forming profile review, MTC, heat number traceability and export documents according to project requirements.
Need help choosing the right titanium diaphragm for your project?
Selection Note: Final titanium diaphragm selection should be reviewed according to application type, titanium grade, thickness, diameter, forming depth, dome geometry, stiffness, surface condition, edge quality, inspection level and documentation needs.
Quality Control for Titanium Diaphragm Components
Material, thickness, formed geometry, edge condition and critical interfaces are inspected against the approved drawing, sample and agreed control plan before batch release.
Material & Lot Traceability
Titanium grade, material specification, condition and heat or lot identification are reviewed against the approved project requirements.
Thickness & Profile
Critical dimensions and formed geometry are checked against the approved drawing or reference sample according to the inspection plan.
Edge, Surface & Interface
Trimmed edges, visible surfaces and drawing-defined assembly features are reviewed for geometry, condition and compatibility.
Golden Sample & Batch
Approved drawings and reference samples control repeat production and support consistent OEM batch review.
Component Inspection Is Different from Assembly Performance Testing
Dimensional and visual conformity of a titanium diaphragm does not by itself establish frequency response, resonance, distortion, sensor accuracy, pressure response or cycle life. Functional validation depends on the supplied product level, assembly, fixture and agreed test method.
*Documentation and functional test scope are supplied according to confirmed project requirements.
